Verify You Are Human

VYAH_1920x1080-03.jpg

Verify You Are Human is an interactive installation that examines identity, agency, and the commodification of human behavior in the age of AI.

Framed around CAPTCHA as a symbolic threshold between humans and machines, the work transforms verification into a performative ritual. Participants physically activate the installation entering a repetitive system that exposes the absurdity and erosion of agency embedded in automated systems.

Half Life

This animation explores the intertwining of time, memory, and consequence. Inspired by a quote “We died when we were 40 from a bullet that we put in our hearts when we were 20” by Albert Camus. Using surreal visuals and a nonlinear timeline, the work reflects on fate, decision-making, and the lingering impact of our past actions.

My Bathtub is Linked to the Sea

bathtub

MY BATHTUB IS LINKED TO THE SEA is a short experimental animation that explores anxiety as a repetitive and uncontrollable mental state. Combining 2D animation with live-action footage, the work unfolds as a loop, reflecting the cyclical nature of anxious episodes.

Through the protagonist’s internal monologue and a gradual shift in visual style, from detailed, colour-rich drawings to simplified, minimal forms, the animation traces a deterioration of perception. This stylistic transformation mirrors the psychological collapse of the character, using repetition and visual reduction to evoke a sense of entrapment and loss of control.

Please Clap

PleaseClap-02.jpg

“When sharp criticism is eliminated, mild criticism becomes sharp.

When mild criticism is no longer allowed, silence will be taken as suspicious.

When silence is forbidden, insufficient praise will become a crime.

And if only one voice is allowed to exist, then that voice is a lie.”

This interactive game examines how systems of enforced positivity suppress dissent through participation.

Players respond to a series of statements by clapping in agreement, disagreement requires self-muting.

Each statement is erased in real time by the player’s clapping.

Each round demands increased volume, which is measured and displayed, transforming participation into an escalating, quantifiable obligation. The game ends when players can no longer comply. Framed as a playful interaction, the work reveals how repetition, escalation, and feedback loops convert expression into compliance, where dissent disappears not through prohibition, but through design.

Glimpse

With the abundance of antiques and culture in Jordan, you can only see so much of the essence of traditional craftsmanship in a blink of an eye. This film showcases the beauty of old Hong Kong, all in a glimpse of textiles, flasks, paintings and statuettes.

Mirage

Mirage is an experimental animation that captures Hong Kong as a shifting and unstable image. Filmed through reflections on glass façades, the work fragments the city into overlapping surfaces of light, colour, and movement.

Using distorted reflections and layered imagery, the animation blurs the boundary between the city and its image. The glass-covered buildings act as both screens and mirrors, turning the urban landscape into something elusive and constantly changing. In contrast to my object-based animation, Mirage focuses on the surface of the city, where perception replaces material memory, and the city exists as a fleeting visual experience.
